This week’s theme – Favorites. These two are definitely my favorite!

Our Everyday – Weeks 9 & 10 – Wake Forest Child Photography

Sunday, May 20th, 2012

The day before my birthday, my sweet boy and I headed out to pick some strawberries. It was super quiet in the strawberry field, and he just had a blast running and picking strawberries. t was surprised that he only ate one strawberry. He had more fun looking for strawberries and screaming his favorite phrase at the moment, “There it is!”  Vollmer Farm is such a great place, and we had to eat some of their delicious ice cream before we left.

And of course, on my birthday, we had to make this roasted strawberry, brie and chocolate grilled cheese with our strawberries. We borrowed The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear from a friend which was a big hit with Owen.

On Mother’s Day Eve we headed out to North Hills and Owen just loved running around and playing. See more mother’s day pictures here.

Our Everyday – Weeks 3 and 4 – Newborn Photographer, Wake Forest, N.C.

What have we been up to?

Well, we took a trip to the beach. Owen loves the sand but is still a little scared of the ocean.

He loves his shoes.

This picture of Owen and Michael is so one of my favorites.

These are his facial expressions right now – oh I just love his little personality.

While we were at the beach, we went to Ripley’s Aquarium at Myrtle Beach.  It was super fun and Owen loved picking up the horseshoe crabs and watching all the sharks float over our heads.

We have loved the Spring weather. It’s just been so beautiful.

And of course, in the past two weeks, we took lots of Easter pictures, made a bunch of Easter crafts and participated in an Easter Egg Hunt. I only took 300 pictures in his Easter outfit because he has never worn a tie before and I just thought it was too cute.

While we were taking these, a bunch of helicopters flew over. The first picture is Owen saying, “Where’d they go? Helicopters?” which he repeated for several hours and was the first thing he said the next morning when he woke up. Adorable.

For one of our Easter Crafts, we made these super cute cards, filled Easter Eggs, and mailed them to the grandparents and great grandparents. When they opened their mailbox, they found an easter egg with a little tiny label on it filled with candy and a cute little card. I love this website and I got the idea for the card here and the idea to mail the eggs here. We also made Graham Cracker Peep Houses which can be seen here.

How delicious were these Bird’s Nest Cookies? Owen and Christopher gobbled them up as soon as we put the tray down. See more pictures here.

Once he figured out there were snacks in the eggs, he just sat and ate and ate and ate :)

This is our everyday.

Perspective – Sweet Shot Tuesday – Child Photographer, Wake Forest, N.C.

Sweet Shot Tuesday. A favorite image from the week.

I love the perspective of this image from this week. Such a sweet boy, and it is a rare moment when he is still. He has so much energy and loves to run, run, run.

52 Week Project – Week 13 – Details – Family Photographer, Raleigh, N.C.

Friday, March 30th, 2012

This week’s theme – Details.

I love holidays – decorating for holidays, eating holiday food, holiday parties, and definitely holiday crafts. So with Easter approaching, we have been working on many different crafts to celebrate – like these Graham Cracker Peep Houses.

He looks at his little project everyday and says, “chickie, chickies!”  So when we heard about Aunt Wendy’s new chickens, we had to go see some real “Chickie, chickies.”

Owen became fast buddies with the little chickie,

This is him saying, “Mommy! Chickie, Chickie!”      He went into the hen house and picked some real eggs with Aunt Wendy – Wow, they are beautiful!

These are Aunt Wendy’s goats. And as she pointed out to me, details can be very important. See the ears of the goat on the left. If your ears look like that goat, you are going to be raised for milk. If you have the ears like the goat on the right, well, that means you are going to be raised for meat. That one detail makes a big difference.

Oh, and you can’t leave Aunt Wendy’s without trying out her tree swing. Amazing!

Our Everyday – Weeks 1 and 2 – Raleigh Durham Family Photography

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

I have been thinking of starting an everyday project – it just might not be every day but most days. It’s important me to not only take posed portraits but pictures of everyday life.  The past two weeks have been full of fun – a birthday party at the amazing Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center, and a trip to see both sets of grandparents. This is our everyday.

He loves and his daddy, and of course, he loves cupcakes!

                                               Moo!

Owen loves the new playground at Hagan Stone Park. Too much fun!

New favorite toy from the Good 2 Grow Kids Consignment Sale!

Mr. Cool just loves reading his books especially anything Llama, Llama.

Hunger – 52 Week Project – Week 12 – Wake Forest Child Photography

Friday, March 23rd, 2012

This week’s theme – Hunger.

There are several things that my little one loves. Eating, sleeping, his letters and choo choos are just a few. But seriously, he LOVES food. He can spot a cookie or chip a mile away. Usually one of the first words he says when he wakes up in the morning is,”Eat?” One of our favorite treats from Whole Foods is their vegan chocolate chip cookies. They are so delicious!  So on Wednesday afternoon, we stopped and got a few cookies and had a picnic in the front yard.

March What to Wear Guide – Raleigh Durham Newborn Photographer

I’m so excited about Spring and outdoor sessions! Here are a few ideas of what to wear this Spring.

Thanks to Corinal Nielson Photography for the what to wear guide!

March Goals – Newborn Photography, Raleigh, N.C.

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

Looking at my February goals:

*Making Valentine’s for the grandparents was super fun. Owen was really thinking about each one as he made them. I love his little thinking face. Click here to see the pictures!

*Everyday Moments. Oh, I have loved this one! I think this should be a year round goal. Not just for Owen but during my sessions. I LOVE everyday moments. Here are a few sessions of Owen this month that were just everyday.

A Great Leap

Cabin Fever

This One’s For the Grandparents – this one has some portraits, too. I just love him on the swings!

Sweet Shot Tuesday

*Take more pictures with me in them. This month I had a whole session of just Owen and I. I still haven’t finished editing and posting them yet simply because I feel like I should be editing my client’s pictures first. Here is just one fun shot from the session. I have loved aviators forever.

*Still haven’t decided on if I want all of the forms/contracts online. I am still thinking about this one.

*Yes – I still need to organize the home office. I need to plan a trip to IKEA this month so I’m sure that will help.

*Cook 3 – 4 times a week. Wow – this has been really fun. Some favorite recipes from this month include

Crockpot Bbq Beer Chicken – This takes five minutes to make and I love Sweet Baby Ray’s!

Brown Butter Parmesan Chicken Linguine – I made this twice in one week. Seriously – that good!

Sausage Crepes – I love crepes! We made these a few times!

Can you tell I love the blog, How Sweet It is? (Two out of the three recipes are from this blog) There are so many on her blog that I haven’t tried yet. The Greek Yogurt Pancakes look awesome!

My goals for February went well -I still need to work on organizing my home office!

Goals for March:

*Take Owen to Pullen Park to ride the carousel

*Attempt some Jillian Michaels dvds- at least once or twice a week

*Drop off all information to my CPA for 2011 taxes.

*Print more pictures and display them in our house. I really want a 20 x 30 Mpix canvas but that may have to wait a month or two. It’s a big decision, too, so I’m going to have to figure out which picture to print.

*Organize my closet.

*Try one new recipe from the Pioneer Woman.

Okay, now it’s time to think of a fun St. Patrick’s Day craft for this month!

52 week project – week 7 – True Love – family photographer, raleigh, n.c.

Friday, February 17th, 2012

So this week’s theme is True Love.  Michael and I have a little saying where if one of us does something small and thoughtful, we always say, “That’s true love.” True love isn’t necessarily grand gestures or huge elaborate gifts. It’s the little things, every day, without being asked.

Probably my all-time favorite – when he gets up early in the morning and goes to get me my favorite iced coffee before I wake up. That’s true love.

Do I even have to explain this one? What girl doesn’t LOVE chocolate?!? Another favorite – when he brings home something chocolate as a surprise. That’s true love.

When he brings me flowers, when he changes a diaper, when he folds laundry, that’ s true love. Truly blessed and so thankful for such a sweet husband.
