My hope is that your newborn portraits are a sweet memory. That is one thing that I love about having sessions on location – that you will look back in twenty years and remember your house, your backyard – where you lived during this season of your life. I love when the lighting is beautiful for portraits in the nursery because it will be redecorated in a year or so but you have the portraits to remember this sweet time. Remember these two? They love their baby sister so much and just loved hugging and kissing her during the session.

A Sweet Memory – Raleigh Durham Newborn Photographer
Wednesday, May 30th, 2012Ava Katherine – Raleigh and Greensboro Newborn Photographer
Tuesday, May 29th, 2012Little Ava Katherine is such a beauty and what a blessing to her family. She was so calm and content during her newborn session, and we were able to capture some beautiful pictures of this little one. We took the pictures in her grandparents’ beautiful yard. The flowers and plants were a perfect backdrop!

52 Week Project – Week 19 – Still Life – Wake Forest Newborn Photography
Friday, May 11th, 2012This week’s theme – Still Life
Taking a still life with a toddler and little puppy around is almost impossible. I love this picture because Charlie, our little maltese is in the background and the puppy toy is being pulled by Owen. The pots are still but the background is definitely not. The pots are our Mother’s Day gift for Owen’s grandmothers and great grandmothers.
I didn’t get too many pictures of this project. Painting with a toddler is pretty funny. He was covered in paint in about two seconds and so was I! I just kept laughing and then he would laugh and he just kept on painting. The pots turned out really cute, and I’m super excited to give them to the grandmothers.

He has arrived – Raleigh Newborn Photographer
Monday, April 16th, 2012Remember these two?
Their sweet little one has arrived, and he is precious. I really just love this session – the special moments with mom and dad and their sweet son, the beautiful light, using fabric from the nursery for some pictures of Hudson. What a gift this little one is to his parents, and I love capturing these first days.

So many favorites from this week it was hard to pick just one. I don’t pick too many black and white pictures, but I just love this image in black and white.
Simply Beautiful – Raleigh Durham Newborn Portraits
Thursday, March 22nd, 2012Wow. This little one is simply beautiful. I absolutely love, love, love this session. When I arrive at your house for a newborn session, I look for the room in the house with the best available natural light. The room in this house turned out to be one of the most gorgeous rooms in the house. I think I oohed and ahhed over the room the entire session. I love using your house as a backdrop – it makes the session more styled and personal, which I love. I had such a hard time narrowing this session to 41 pictures. She is breathtaking and has a proud brother and sister!
